Administration decry water scarcity in some parts of Jubaland

in an extraordinary summit, the Jubaland council of ministers led by the Jubaland state president Ahmed Islam discussed the worrying impact of water shortage in Afmadow District. The scarcity was resulted by local community wells that dried up.

Humanitarian organization and well-wishers responded to an earlier alarming of the situation but authorities affirmed in the meeting on the need for more.

Many parts of Somalia are prone to other health and environmental hazards during draught that tend to displace hundreds of thousands of people every year.

The meeting preceded another which saw the concerned authorities meet the Humanitarian organisations and others who pledged their support to provide an urgent relief.

The Council also discussed the need for a lasting solution to address the ongoing challenge.
